This year’s annual Shin Min Fun Drive held from June 13 to 16, 2014 had a total of 150 participants in 45 cars.
Back for the 14th consecutive year, this 865km self-drive event covered three popular Malaysia attractions — Legoland, Port Dickson and Genting.
At the first stop, participants enjoyed a hearty breakfast at Legoland, plus each participant received a free combo tickets to Legoland. The day ended with a one-night stay and a sumptuous dinner at Port Dickson Corus Paradise Resort.
The next day, everyone continued their drive towards Genting for a two-night stay in Genting’s First World Hotel with entrance tickets to Snow World.
The event ended with a gala dinner hosted by UFM 100.3 DJs Xiao Zhu and Li Mei. Exciting stage games with a Fathers’ Day theme were played.
Everyone was a winner that night. More than 40 sets of lucky draw prizes were given away, including two top prizes of a set of Yokohama tires each worth $650. On top of that, petrol vouchers were given away to two families with the best designed cars.
Participant Ang Teck Piong, 48, felt that he and his family were well taken care of throughout the trip. The drive was relaxing as road marshals and technicians were engaged to ensure a safe and pleasant trip for all participants. He thoroughly enjoyed the event as it gave him an unforgettable Fathers’ Day.
The main sponsors of this year’s Shin Min Fun Drive are Genting, Gain City and YHI Yokohama, with venue sponsors Legoland and Singapore Turf Club.
