Agoda, POSB and Qoo10 among the top winners of the AsiaOne People’s Choice Awards 2016

Online travel service Agoda and POSB’s mobile banking were proclaimed as readers’ top picks for Best Online Travel Service and Best Mobile Banking Service in the AsiaOne People’s Choice Awards (PCA) 2016 held in April.

Over 200 guests attended the annual awards ceremony held at the Singapore Press Holdings Auditorium.

The Best Online Travel Service and Best Mobile Banking Service were among two of the five new categories added to the awards this year to reflect the ever-changing consumer trends today.

Ms Karen Lim, acting editor at AsiaOne, said: “When it comes to services and information, consumers are shifting online to seek out tools to help them with their decisions. Companies know this and have embraced innovative solutions to address the needs of their customers.”

She added: “With the addition of such categories, we hope to provide our readers with better choices that reflect their lifestyle today and to acknowledge companies for their digital efforts.”

DBS and POSB swept all the banking categories in addition to their win in the Best Mobile Banking Service, while ION Orchard cemented its position as everyone’s favourite shopping centre by winning both the Best Shopping Centre and Best Luxury Shopping Centre categories.

Mr Chew Yung Jin, senior vice-president of DBS’ Consumer Banking, said: “This win affirms the way that we have been focusing on the customer, regardless of the channel. These accolades give us further steam to continue our efforts to serve our customers in the best way that we can.”

California Fitness Singapore was elevated to the Hall of Fame this year, after winning the number one spot in the health and fitness category five years in a row.

After three months of voting, 30 brands received the coveted nod from readers, and close to 200,000 votes were cast in the eighth year of the awards.
