More than 1500 users of the Singapore Press Holdings' (SPH) SoShiok app turned up to claim their sweet treat from Alfero Artisan Gelato from 14-16 March.  All it took was a flash of the ST SoShiok phone app to get a free scoop of gelato. The gelato giveaway was held at 100AM Shopping Mall on 14 March and at the gelato’s outlet in Marina Square Shopping centre over the weekend of 15 & 16 March. The weekend redemption had SundayLife! food critics Wong Ah Yoke and Tan Hsueh Yun serving the gelato personally.

The gelato giveaway was part of a series of goodies for users of the SoShiok app.  This free mobile food app, is developed by SPH's news portal AsiaOne and named after its food website, The Straits Times SoShiok (www.soshiok.com).  The app offers a comprehensive range of content from the popular Taste pages in The Sunday Times, as well as food news and reviews from the other English newspapers published by SPH.  Though this food app, users can also make restaurant reservations and search for recipes.

Android and iphone users can now download The Straits Times SoShiok app for free.
