On the evening of Nov 26, readers of The Sunday Times gathered with their friends and family at Italian-Japanese restaurant NUVO.
Jointly organised by The Sunday Times and Marina Square, "Wine Down @ NUVO", was a mid-week perk for about 65 wine enthusiasts.
International wine specialist Lim Hwee Peng first entertained guests with a lively talk about each wine and their wineries. Participants sipped and swirled whilst noting the basics — acidity, mouth feel, aromas and flavours of various wines.
Shortly after, guests were served a delectable six-course dinner prepared by Chef Mark Richards, each accentuated with wine pairing. One of the menu highlights was the Tamago Crusted Pork Collar topped with Spiced Apple and Raisin. A Pinot Noir Les Templiers pays D'oc (France) was the perfect accompaniment.
“Both my wife and I were amazed by the “Wine Down @ Social Square” event in October, so when we read about this similar event, we invited two more friends to join us. We all enjoyed the wines and dishes,” said Joseph Lau, one of the guests.
The light-hearted occasion culminated in a lucky draw session where five lucky readers walked away with attractive prizes sponsored by The Sunday Times.
