Over 130 readers spent a Saturday afternoon at the Berita Harian Travel Seminar 2016 exploring the current trends in Halal tourism and the best way to prepare for the annual pilgrimage to Mecca.

Speakers at the seminar shared information about amazing Oman and beautiful Okinawa in Japan, as well as other breathtaking regional destinations. They also gave attendees relevant tips on personal health, travel safety preparations and travel insurance.

“There were more articles regarding this seminar that came out in Berita Harian this year compared to the previous year hence that has heightened the awareness of the seminar. I now see the importance of getting travel insurance after listening to the second speaker, Saiful's explanation. This also applies to nearby places like Malaysia and Indonesia,” said housewife Sais Hamidah Siraj, 58.

The speakers included representatives from tour agencies, an independent travel consultant as well as the Vice-President of the Association of Muslim Travel Agents (AMTAS)

The Berita Harian Travel Seminar 2016 was held in conjunction Chan’s World Holidays, Oman Air, Okinawa Industry Promotion Public Corporation and SilkAir.
