22 year old part-time research assistant, Jean Yong, has been crowned The New Paper New Face’s 25th winner, clinching the competition title & Cosmoprof Miss Photogenic on 22 September at Paragon. She walks away with $10,000 cash, $2,000 worth of hair services from Kelture Salon, 1 year of nail services worth $2,000 from Relaque and an exclusive feature in Cleo.
After the finale, Jean who had to cut her hair for an upcoming job with her agency NOW Model Management shared with The New Paper that “it was quite a risky move I think, doing it a day before the competition. It could have affected my performance if I had not embraced it.”
Pastry chef and grooming assistant Ameerah Smith, 23, was first runner-up while student Melanie Kasise, 14, one of the youngest finalists is second runner-up.
Also the Subaru Miss Vivacious & The New Paper Miss Popularity go to Cheryl Yao, 23, while Ann Lopez, 19, wins Kelture Salon Miss Beautiful Hair title.
