Big turn-out for Shin Min Heartland Talent Challenge

The final round of the third annual Shin Min Heartland Talent Challenge 2016, organised by Shin Min Daily News concluded on September 4 at the Big Box shopping centre. The event seeks to identify the fastest, sharpest and most dexterous readers for each skill set through arduous qualifying requirements.

Prior to the finale, four standard game challenges were presented to participants over qualifying events held on August 20, 21 and 28 at Clarke Quay Central, Gek Poh Shopping Centre and Rivervale Plaza respectively.

The game challenges consisted of: Transfer Fishballs Challenge, Pick-Up-Pasta Challenge, 3-Minute Origami Challenge and Basketball Aiming Challenge. Participants were faced with difficulties such as short time limits, oiled fishballs, fragile spaghetti sticks and the like.

Fueled by the possibility of winning the top cash prizes of $888, $288 and $188 and more, 86 finalists pitted their skills against one another in selected challenges at Big Box. Ultimately, four champions emerged with unquestionable skills.

Overall, the Shin Min Heartland Talent Challenge 2016 was an effective platform in promoting camaraderie within family and friends, and healthy competition among heartlanders.
