Cheers and excitement at the The New Paper EPL Mania

About 80 soccer fanatics gathered at Hard Rock Café on Nov 2  to witness the live soccer match screening between Man City & Manchester United at the recent TNP EPL Mania.

Some fans, dressed in their favourite team’s jerseys, came 1½ hours before the match kick-off. To get them into the mood, beer sponsored by Carlsberg and food were served at the pre-match chill-out.

During the match, the atmosphere was very tense as hopeful fans monitored the large projector screen closely while trying to contain their excitement. The room roared with cheers from the City fans and boos from the United fans 39 minutes into the match as United’s Chris Smalling received a red card and was ousted from the game. Man City won 1-0, much to the disappointment of the rival fans.

Attendees gave the ‘thumbs-up’ for TNP EPL Mania event.

United fan and TNP reader Thashalan Raveendran commented: “The atmosphere was great, I really liked it. Very intense, very loud.”

Dennis Khew, 46, agreed. He said: “I’ll definitely come back again! It’s my second time here and the atmosphere has been excellent both times.”

Six lucky fans also walked away with L’Oreal Men Expert product hampers worth $200 each.
