A crowd of more than 350 registrants, with their family members, turned up for the first ever Chinese New Year Shopping Spree held at Harvey Norman flagship store Millenia Walk on Saturday, Jan 16 and Sunday, Jan 17.
Readers saw the publicity ads in our newspapers and signed up for the exclusive 3-hour shopping event held each day; as they wanted to purchase furniture and household appliances at special prices.
Each registrant paid a $20 fee and in return they received a $20 voucher which is fully redeemable at the event, a goodie bag and a breakfast buffet, so they started the shopping spree fully energised.
All shoppers ended the spree happily as they had utilised their $20 vouchers and bought items at rock bottom prices. Many bought kitchen appliances and electronic gadgets to prepare for the Chinese New Year, while some bought bedding and furniture for their new homes.
Harvey Norman’s marketing communications general manager Eloise Sim said: “We are very happy with our first collaboration with SPH. The feedback from our customers so far has been very encouraging and there will be more of such trademark events between us and SPH.”
This event was organised by Harvey Norman Millenia Walk, with The Straits Times, Lianhe Zaobao, Lianhe Wanbao and Shin Min Daily News as the supporting media partners.
