Shin Min Daily News organised the Fun Culinary Workshop cum Luncheon at Tim Palace Restaurant on September 13.  Guests enjoyed eight delectable dishes whipped up by award-winning and celebrity masterchef Pung Lu Tin. 

Using the sponsor’s products – SOBE soyabean milk, Fortune Tofu and OKOME shortgrain rice — Chef Pung  demonstrated four mouthwatering dishes: “Self-made spinach tofu with mushroom and conpoy sauce”, “Steamed egg tofu with scallop and black bean sauce”, “Fried brown and shortgrain rice with seafood” and fish fillet with SOBE Unsweetened Soybean Milk and chicken stock”.  These dishes were also served as part of the menu for the day.

To highlight the Lantern Festival mood, mooncakes were served at each table and readers were also invited to take part in the “lantern riddles” quiz.  

Hosted by UFM DJ Anna Lim, a simple question & answer session hyped up the crowd and created a fun atmosphere.

Three lucky readers also won $100 Tim Palace Restaurant vouchers each in the lucky draw. 

The sponsors of this event, Fortune Tofu and OKOME Short grain rice, successfully reached out to more than 330 readers and heartlanders onsite through product sampling and a special sale of their Golden Peony Brown Rice and OKOME shortgrain rice.  The packs of rice sold at a discounted price were all snapped up quickly.  Every participant also received a goodie bag, which included products from the sponsors.

Activities planned in the event were interactive and participants did enjoy themselves with the eight-course lunch. The brand exposure has been quite extensive throughout the event where Chef Pang and the emcee highlighted many attributes of our products to the participants, who also gained more cooking expertise and knowledge about Fortune Tofu as well as Okome US Rice.”
