This year’s Valentine’s Day saw 98 couples teaming up for the fourth MyPaper Love Hunt 2016, presented by Bugis Junction and Bugis+. Held on Feb 14, the couples were vying for the top prize of $1,888 cash. The hunt, which started at Bugis Junction and ended at Bugis+, was also an opportunity for the couples to strengthen bonds.
The treasure-hunt event saw teams of two race against time to complete 15 Olympic-themed challenge stations across two malls, Bugis Junction and Bugis+. Each station required them to decipher given clues to complete a challenge before moving to the next station. The teams were challenged with bonding games such as sandwiching a football between their feets to skip rope, performing archery with one member blindfolded and to lock arms for a virtual swimming game.
Though they finished fifth at the end point, the dynamic duo, Mr Ray Peh, a technicial executive, and Ms Dawn Liew, a facility executive, were crowned champions and took home $1,888 cash based on their overall timing.
Besides the top three winning teams, there were two subsidiary awards of $88 cash each presented to two teams. The Best Sportsmanship award was awarded to quirkily dressed couple Mr Steven Tan and Ms Loke Kah Leng, who have been together for seven years.
The Most Photogenic award was presented to students Loh Hong Sheng and Lin Ting Chih. One lucky team also walked away with one million STAR$® (equivalent to $1,000 CapitaVouchers) through a lucky draw.
The crowd was also entertained by stunning performances by SPGusto Cheerleading and football freestylers from Urban Street Team.
Mr David Gage Peh, marketing communications manager of Bugis Junction and Bugis+, said: "We are delighted to present MyPaper Love Hunt once again for the fourth year running. This year, all teams had to brave tougher Olympic-themed challenges. We are glad that they truly enjoyed themselves and strengthened their bonds with their partners."
