The God of Fortune brought prosperity to eight lucky households this Chinese New Year (CNY). This in-paper promotion is organised by Marigold with media partners Shin Min Daily News (SM) and Lianhe Wanbao (WB). Eight lucky readers won the grand prize of $888 cash and eight cartons of Marigold drinks each. Twenty consolation winners were given $138 cash and three cartons of Marigold drinks at the end of the month.
To participate, readers had to message in the number of “福”, “财” or “吉”characters found on the Marigold pack in the contest form published in SM and WB from Jan 8 to Feb 14.
Lucky winner Loi Kim Yin, 42, felt fortunate to be chosen as he has never won a big prize before. Another winner, Ms Lee Hwee Lan, 41, found out about the contest from her sister, who read it in the newspapers.
