Held on Jan 31 at Resorts World at Sentosa, about 500 invited guests and readers attended the final instalment of Lianhe Zaobao Great Dynasty Feasts series which started with Qin, Tang, Ming and a closure with the Qing Dynasty Feast.

It was inspired by the legendary Emperor Kangxi, hailed as one of the greatest Chinese rulers who suppressed the Revolt of the Three Feudatories and reigned over a stabilised empire for 61 years.

Chefs from Forest森 and Feng Shui Inn presented an exciting eight-course gastronomic experience that paired perfectly with Shaoxing Nu Er Hong and German wines that were sponsored by Ang Leong Huat.

The fun-packed afternoon started with guests enjoying the CNY-themed games at the various game stations at the foyer. The excitement continued inside the ballroom with CNY dragon dance, a Qing dynasty dance, acrobatics performance from China, stage games as well as a mass “loi hei” session. The event concluded with eight lucky winners, walking away with weekend hotel stays and wine hampers.

This year, Lianhe Zaobao presented a series of feasts themed around the Emperors from four of China’s greatest dynasties with Maybank returning as the Presenter of the series for the fourth year running. Maybank credit card members enjoyed a 50 per cent special off usual registration fees.
