First impressions count

The recent My Paper Metropolitan Workhop was held at the MOA New Zealand Bar & Grill at Changi City Point on 22 Feb 2014.

80 My Paper readers received many valuable tips on how to make a good first impression as well as a session on beer crafting at the Networking & Beer Appreciation Workshop.

Ms Suzenne Zheng, First Impression Trainer, started the workshop by dishing out advice on the art of conversation and networking.   This was followed by Mr Andrew Wee, owner of MOA New Zealand Bar & Grill who shared tips about craft beer and food pairing.

Mr Wee, a major importer of craft beer here, says that beer can help bring out the taste of food as well. Referring to craft beer - which is produced in limited quantities using traditional methods - he says that such beer comes in many more varieties and can be easily matched with food to help to bring out its flavours.

Mr Wenson Gunawan, 26, who is here for business, said that he attended the workshop to learn local business etiquette. The Indonesian, who runs his own trading business, said that it is common in his country to perform a handshake with both hands. "I have learnt from this workshop that a solid, firm handshake is the rule of thumb here," he said.

The 3 hour workshop concluded with a sumptuous spread of food and beer provided by MOA New Zealand Bar & Grill.
