Kiss92 gave out $50,000 cash to an ecstatic fan on Friday, May 13.

The mechanics of Kiss92’s Maddy, Jason & Arnold’s $50,000 Triple Play was simple – one lucky listener stood to win by simply being  the ninth caller to call in after hearing and successfully identifying the following three songs which were played back-to-back. The three songs were Katy Perry’s Roar, Taylor Swift’s Blank Space and Maroon 5’s Sugar.

The phone lines went crazy after the third Triple Play song was aired and as the ninth caller, Ms Shirlyn Poea made radio history by winning the biggest cash prize on Singapore radio.

Shirlyn, a secretary at Parkway Hospital, said: “It was so sudden! My boss asked everyone in the office to try calling and I was really shocked that I was the ninth caller! I didn’t expect to be so lucky! I will plan an overseas trip with my three kids, but the main bulk of it will be for their education."

This is the biggest cash giveaway in Singapore’s radio history, with cash prizes amounting to more than $55,000!

The contest started on March 21 and throughout the period, the Kiss92 team received many photos of fans placing their mobile phones on the table while tuning in to Kiss92, showing their eagerness and determination to be the ninth caller to win the cash prizes.
