A scene from an old-school beauty salon, joggers at the Bedok Reservoir, a strikingly melancholic image of a woman begging at Little India - exquisite images that captured a moment in time in Singapore.
These are just some of the evocative photos showcased at the Leica Galerie Singapore in Fullerton Hotel as part of the exhibition, ‘The Straits Times Big Picture by Leica’.
Close to 80 guests graced the opening of the exhibition on September 7, which set the stage for the collaboration of two iconic brands, Leica and The Straits Times. The exhibition is set to run until Sep 28.*
The photographs were captured over a 24-hour period by Kua Chee Siong and Neo Xiaobin, both photojournalists from The Straits Times (ST), and previously published in ST print and digital platforms.
The prints are available for sale with the proceeds to be donated to The School Pocket Money Fund, a community project initiated by The Straits Times to help children from low-income families through school.
