Lianhe Zaobao Economic Outlook and Investment Seminar 2018

The annual Lianhe Zaobao Economic Outlook and Investment seminar is back for its 10th edition. With Lianhe Zaobao celebrating its 95th anniversary, the event was taken up a notch with an additional world economic outlook analysis session in the morning followed by a panel of experts imparting their insights on a wide range of investment products.

Dr Tan Khee Giap, Associate Professor of Public Policy at Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore opened the morning session with a presentation on Singapore’s economic outlook based on the recently announced budget.

Dr Wang Huitong, Director at Institute of Environmental Economics, Central University of Finance and Economics then joined Dr Tan on stage for a dialogue where they analysed the economic outlook for the world and Asia, including Singapore’s role in China’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative.

The event continued after lunch with sharing from both Ms Yen Chong, Deputy General Manager of Qingjian Realty (South Pacific) Group Pte Ltd and Mr Samuel Siew, Analyst at Phillip Futures on the upswing of the property market and 2018 currency outlook respectively.

Professor David Lee from Singapore University of Social Sciences came on after the break to talk about Blockchain and Cryptocurrency, two of the hottest topics in the investment world during the past year. Mr You Weiren, Senior Analyst at Fundsupermart rounded up the afternoon session with tips on how one can get better returns on their stocks portfolio.
