SINGAPORE, 5 Mar 2018 - Over 200 delegates attended the third edition of the Lianhe Zaobao Singapore Budget 2018 Business Forum held on 5 March 2018 at Novotel Singapore on Stevens.

It was organised by Lianhe Zaobao, Singapore Press Holdings' flagship Chinese newspaper.

The business forum, which was conducted in Mandarin, was targeted at small and medium enterprise (SME) bosses and directors, offering them the opportunity to have a deeper understanding of Budget 2018 and its implications on the development of their businesses.

Minister for Finance Mr Heng Swee Keat engaged the audiences in a dialogue at the forum, which was moderated by Mr Goh Sin Teck, Editor of Lianhe Zaobao and Lianhe Wanbao. They were joined by Mr Roland Ng, President of Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry; Mr Teo Siong Seng, Chairman of Singapore Business Federation; and Mr Douglas Foo, President of Singapore Manufacturing Federation.

Both Mr Ng and Mr Foo pointed out the importance of encouraging companies to collaborate in sharing resources or investing abroad. Trade associations can play a key role in facilitating these partnerships.

Apart from the enlightening dialogue session with the Minister, the participants also gained invaluable insights from the panel discussion with Mr Francis Tan, Economist, United Overseas Bank; Mr Eric Low, Deputy CEO, Oxley Holdings; Ms Yvon Bock, Founder & Managing Director, Hegen Pte Ltd; and Mr Jesher Loi, Director, Branding & Marketing Development, Ya Kun International.
