More than 290 readers attended the Lianhe Wanbao Mother’s Day Luncheon at PARKROYAL on Beach Road on May 10.
Apart from savouring six traditional Sichuan dishes that Si Chuan Dou Hua’s executive chef Zeng Feng grew up with, readers also had a chance to taste a classic Chinese New Year dish that was popular some 18 years ago.
Comedian Tay Ying Ying wasa also brought in to entertain the guests with her songs and dance. Special stage games were also played to encourage interations between mother and child. Lianhe Wanbao also prepared stalks of carnation flowers for the children to present to their mothers. In addition, three lucky readers walked away with prizes, worth a total of $500 sponsored Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant.
