The SPH Shop & Win promotion was an eight-week long promotion in conjunction with the Great Singapore Sale that ran from May 30 to July 27, 2014. Shoppers who spent a minimum of $50 at participating outlets could sms their entries to be eligible for eight weekly draws. Almost 40,000 entries were received in this year’s promotion. 

Lucky shoppers stood to win prizes in eight weekly draws. The prizes included a Subaru Impreza 1.6i and a Nissan Sylphy 1.8L, which were given away in the fourth and eighth week.

Both draws were conducted at the VivoCity Amphitheatre, where some 600 participants were selected to take part in each live challenge — kicking a ball down a giant "pin-ball" ramp and into holes that represented prizes. Successful participants were eligible for a draw to win prizes corresponding to the respective holes.

Mr Chong Teck Ann, 44, won the Subaru Impreza 1.6i in Week 4’s live challenge on July 5 and Mr Teo Zixiang Willy, 32, won the Nissan Sylphy 1.8L in Week 8’s live challenge on Aug 2.

On top of the live challenges, this year included two new joint promotion contests with Metro and VivoCity. Twenty-four lucky winners each won a $500 Metro Gift Card in three shopper's sprees that were conducted on July 5, July 12 and August 2 at Metro Paragon, Sengkang, Causeway Point and City Square Mall respectively; and 10 winners who correctly guessed the number of shopping bags in the Nissan Sylphy car display at Level 1 of VivoCity walked away with a TANGS gift card worth $200 each.

MotorImage/Subaru and Tan Chong International/Nissan were the main sponsors of SPH Shop & Win. The prize sponsors were Marina Square, Metro, Hong Thai Travel, MasterCard, Mitsubishi Electric, Huawei, Lorenzo, MyRepublic, OM Furniture and Sinn by The Hour Glass.
