Screen captures at the Zaobao Indulge

Ultra HD TV screens, craft beer, single malts and the company of 100 SME business leaders and Zaobao readers make the latest Zaobao Indulge evening a success.

With World Cup fever in the air, how could anyone do without an ultra-high definition television set at home and a glass of craft beer in hand?

That might have been the thought on everyone’s minds when they gathered on the evening of June 13 at Courts Orchard. The occasion was a Zaobao Indulge event organised by Lianhe Zaobao, where over 100 small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) business leaders and owners as well as Zaobao readers were introduced to LG’s range of futuristic TVs.

The screen with the biggest draw was the LG Ultra HD TV, which features an 84-inch screen with four times the normal resolution and allows easy control of each channel. The guests were also introduced to the world’s first OLED TV with an organically contoured ultra-thin screen that enhances viewing pleasure.

Lubricating the elevated TV-viewing experience was MOA New Zealand craft beer, a refreshing beverage that does not give that bloated feeling, says Mr Andrew Wee, the executive director who imports the brand. Made of high-quality natural ingredients, artesian spring water and New Zealand hops, the beer is handcrafted through barrel ageing and bottle fermentation.

After guests sipped on the beer like wine (that is how it is best appreciated, says Mr Wee), they got to sample a single malt Scotch whiskey, Highland Park, distributed by Edrington Group Marketing.  Its sales manager Milton Chee says the smokiness of the 12 Year Old and 18 Year Old whiskeys was derived from the peat from the Orkney Islands, which is thousands of years old, and ripened in an oak barrel to acquire a fruity, spicy flavour.

Thanks to the potent combination of the latest big screen technology, premium beverages and the esteemed guest list put together by Lianhe Zaobao, the guests enjoyed the evening’s programme, says Ms Jasmine Seow, the marketing director of Courts.

Courts was the main sponsor for the event, ZbBz was the designated luxury magazine, and Highland Park and MOA were the appointed beverage partners.
