Shin Min Daily News, founded in 1967, is a bold, daring and gritty evening newspaper that captivates Chinese middle class readers with human interest stories about the community, crime, family issues, health, entertainment and sports (with emphasis on major football leagues). Popular content also include “Master Hsing Yun — Word of Wisdom” and “Live Well”.

Since its merger with Chinese evening daily Lianhe Wanbao in 2021, Shin Min’s content and verticals have been enhanced by the addition of popular verticals from Wanbao such as Local News, Social News, Lifestyle News as well as Malaysian and World News.

To keep up with the digital age, Shin Min started its Facebook (FB) page in 2012 and has since garnered over 390,000 followers. Besides sharing print content and breaking news, the team also posts exclusive content in the form of daily columns on health, recipes, living tips and inspirational quotes etc.

Audiences can also engage with reporters on the “新闻抢先看”(Live!@The Newsroom)livestream programme from Mondays to Fridays 4:30pm, where reporters share and dissect selected headlines of the day.
