Shin Min Daily News gets active on wheels

The inaugural SM All Wheels Day was held on April 26, at Punggol Waterway Park.

Despite the heavy downpour in the morning, a total of 95 groups of four comprising family and friends brought their own bicycles, skateboards, skate scooters or rollerblades for this action-packed and fun-filled Sunday morning at the scenic North Eastern Riverine Loop.  There were two categories – Go Wheels (12km circuit) and All Wheels (3.2km circuit). To make the ride more challenging, each team had to complete given tasks along the way.

The flag off for both categories was done by guest-of-honour Teo Ser Luck, Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry and Mayor, North East District, Dr Helen Chan, chief executive officer, Vita Green Health Products Co.,Ltd , Ms Jacqueline Teo, deputy director, National Parks Board, and Mr Bernard Choo, associate editor, Shin Min Daily News.

Eight top prizes were given out to each category and 10 lucky winners also walked away with over $8,000 worth of cash and prizes in the lucky draw.

Dr Helen Chan, chief executive officer of Vita Green Health Products Co.,Ltd  who specially flew from Hong Kong to grace the event said: ”The SM All Wheels Day perfectly coincides with our company’s mission of “health”, “joy” and “youth” - keeping healthy through cycling, the joy of being with family and friends and being youthful through good health and happiness.  It is definitely a good event for us to participate in.“

This event will also support the planting of 10 trees on October 10 at the SG50 Mass Tree Planting, an initiative by NParks.

The SM All Wheels Day was presented by Vita Green, with Marigold as the product sponsor and National Parks Board as the venue sponsor.
