Co-organised by Shin Min Daily News and Lianhe Wanbao, the annual lunar new year celebratory luncheon welcomed the year of the Dog in advance with 250 guests! Held at Mandarin Orchard Singapore, the 7-course menu was specially curated by the hotel’s executive sous chef Liew Tian Heong.
Incorporating our sponsors’ products into the menu, chef Liew created 3 event exclusive dishes with Marigold’s Dawn milk and King of Kings’ evaporated milk – vegetable and dessert and, a drunken prawn dish with Plum Blossom’s Hua Tiao Chiew.
Readers were thoroughly entertained by hosts SPH Radio UFM100.3 DJ Limei and Chinese Media Group representative Andrew Chong. This year’s programme consisted of a special song performance by popular getai artiste Lee Peifen and well-loved segment involving the God of Fortune spreading his luck!
Setting this year’s luncheon apart from previous years’, readers also enjoyed fringe activities such as Chinese calligraphy drawing and local olden-day game ‘Tikam Tikam’.
