SPH Digital visited two media agencies in December 2015 for a Show and Tell session about SPH Razor and how it can be a part of their content strategy.
About 60 staff from Zenith Optimedia and IPG Mediabrands — from media planners to directors and general manager — attended the presentations on Dec 16 and 17 respectively.
At the sessions, Adrian Tay, head of Digital Media Group, and then-SPH Razor deputy editor Sujin Thomas, shared SPH Razor’s video capabilities vis-bilit the rising trend of online video consumption in Singapore.
While SPH Razor is primarily known for producing news and lifestyle content with a hyperlocal angle, Sujin highlighted the possibilities for advertising and branding through executions such as a video series for a brand, event coverage, or even incidental marketing. These may also be incorporated into existing RazorTV programmes like The SoShiok Show, Mother Sure Scold, and Instascram.
SPH’s video arm has also branched out into producing client-driven commercial projects, leveraging on its robust in-house creative services and production facilities.
Some recent projects include the Capitaland BuildSG2065 campaign, which bagged a Silver award at the Asian Digital Media Awards 2015 for Best in Digital Advertising Campaign. Other notable campaigns in its portfolio are videos produced for property clients Frasers Centrepoint Homes and High Park Residences.
These client projects, which could take the form of corporate videos, branded content, viral videos, or product placements, leverage on the SPH network for cross-platform marketing and promotion. Apart from video channels embedded in sites across the SPH network and client videos placed in native spots, they are also amplified through multi-screen campaigns within and beyond SPH.
