Over 120 golfers from the advertising fraternity teed off at the annual SPH Golf Challenge 2016 on July 21.
The tournament, held at Tanah Merah Country Club (TMCC) – Tampines Course, was hosted by Ms Elsie Chua, Executive Vice-President and Head of Marketing Division.
A variety of novelty holes, named after and sponsored by different SPH business units, were also designed to add excitement to the game.
One of the holes, dedicated to SPH Radio, gave golfers who landed within the 170m zone a chance to win a pair of business class air tickets to any Qatar Airline destination.
The biggest highlight of the SPH Golf Challenge 2016 was the Hole-In-One prize of a Mercedes-Benz C 180 Coupe worth $117,000 (excluding insurance and COE), sponsored by Daimler South East Asia Pte Ltd.
A post-game cocktail reception and dinner was held in the evening at the ballroom of the TMCC – Garden course, where the prestigious SPH Green Jacket was presented to the overall winner of the SPH Golf Challenge 2016, Mr Chris Chiu, Chief Creative Partner J. Walter Thompson, Singapore. This is the third time Mr Chiu, who scored 37 stableford points OCB, has won the challenge.
