About 50,000 people attended this year’s STJobs Career & Development Fair at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre on July 12 and 13.

The two-day annual event is one of the largest job fairs here, with 200 employers from 16 industries taking part. They include major players such as DBS Bank Limited, Western Digital, Jay Gee Melwani Group and Sephora (Singapore) Pte Ltd.

New at the fair this year was the unveiling of a refreshing new look of STJobs.sg, the online job portal, which featured new functions such as personalisation of homepage and the introduction of a benchmarking tool to help job seekers stay competitive.

Companies who took part for recruitment and branding found the fair to be very focused in terms of the target crowd. “It is one of the largest fairs locally with a large number of attendees and participants who are individuals across different industries seeking career or education advancement. Our participation previously has seen great success in creating greater awareness for our brand and suite of programmes. This event enabled us to reach out to individuals who wish to continue their education journey and/or help them choose the right education route so as to advance in their career”, said Ms Amy Tee, vice-president (Marketing & Communications) of PSB Academy.

Ms Joyce Goh, division director of BGC Group, Pte Ltd said: “We were able to attract 600 candidates to register with us and response was great. STJobs career fair is different from other fairs as the exhibitors are of diverse industries and so were able to attract more potential candidates. The advertising and promotional efforts created more awareness and attracted more crowds as well.”

Mr Steven Wong, Head of Marketing at SPH Digital, said: “This year is another breakthrough as we saw more companies and attendees compared to the past two years and we are really pleased with the turnout. We are already lining up plans for the next show.”
