Teeing off for a good time

Over 120 golfers from the advertising fraternity teed off at the annual SPH Golf Challenge 2015 on July 24.

The tournament, held at Tanah Merah Country Club (TMCC) - Tampines Course, was hosted by Mr Leslie Fong, Senior Executive Vice-President, Marketing.

A variety of novelty holes, named after and sponsored by different SPH business units, were also designed to add excitement to the game. In particular, Hole 14 was dedicated to celebrate The Straits Times 170th birthday. Golfers who landed within the 170m zone stood a chance to win $1,845 cash.

Tiger Beer and Auchentoshan whiskey were also served to golfers at Hole 1 and Hole 10 respectively before they teed off.

One of the highlights of the SPH Golf Challenge 2015 was the Hole-In-One prize of a Mercedes-Benz C 180 AVANTGARDE worth $111,000, sponsored by Daimler South East Asia Pte Ltd, for Par 3 Holes 2, 5, 15 & 17.  

A post-game cocktail reception and dinner was held in the evening at the ballroom of the the TMCC - Garden course, where the overall winner of the SPH Golf Challenge 2015, Mr Chris Chiu from Leo Burnett (37 ocb), was presented with the prestigious SPH Green Jacket. This is the second time Mr Chiu has won the challenge. His last victory was three years ago.
