The New Paper New Face 2015 winner clinches title on first try

Ms Selynna Norhisham beat 19 other finalists to be crowned the winner of The New Paper New Face 2015 in front of an 800-strong crowd at the event finals held at Takashimaya Square on Oct 1. The 22 year-old Administrative Manager put off participating in the competition for five years to focus on her studies. She walked away with the grand prize of $10,000 cash and an exclusive feature in Her World. She also won two other subsidiary titles: “Subaru Miss Dynamic” and “New Look Miss Fashionista”.

R Nametha, a 17 year-old St. Hilda Secondary School student, was the first runner-up,  She also took the “Her World Runway Star” title.  23-year-old Lee Qian Hui was the second runner-up.

Finalist Joeypink Lai sashayed away with two subsidiary titles – “Miss Levi’s®” and “The New Paper Miss Popularity”.  The bubbly and cheerful 23-year-old garnered about 30 per cent of the total votes casted.

A new subsidiary title, “Miss Cagliari Cosmopolitan”, was awarded to 19 year-old model Angie Watkins. Mr Richmond Te, OWL International Group assistant general manager, said: "It has been a great pleasure for OBS and Caffè Cagliari to be a part of The New Paper New Face 2015. The campaign has been a great opportunity, not only for us as a brand to reach out to new generations of coffee connoisseurs, but also for vibrant finalists like Angie Watkins, Miss Cagliari Cosmopolitan, to get closer to their aspirations."

In conjunction with SG50 this year, the one-and-a-half hour show was performed by a full Singaporean cast, including accompanying male modelling talents and dance performers. Local rapper-actor Shigga Shay also performed a 15-minute medley of his latest hits.

The New Paper New Face 2015, is a six-month run campaign organised by The New Paper, presented by Subaru, with Levi’s®  as Official Apparel, New Look as Official Footwear & Accessories, Caffe Cagliari by OWL as Official Beverage, Her World as Official Magazine and Kiss 92 FM & ONE FM as Official Radio Partners.
