Bugis+ and Bugis Junction were buzzing with energy and excitement on May 11 as one hundred pairs of The New Paper (TNP) readers raced their way through the third edition of the TNP Adventure Hunt - Go Local in the Ultimate Race.
With only two and a half hours to complete the 15 challenges of the hunt, the teams sped across the two malls to find the game stations.
The race certainly lived up to its theme of going local, as the teams found themselves playing childhood games like five stones, figuring out the ingredients of local coffee shop drinks, guessing Singapore landmarks from old photos, and even figuring out the plethora of local acronyms that are part of most Singaporeans’ lives.
There was also lots of laughter as the teams tried to pose their way to recreate photos, use paper bullets and rubber bands to shoot at cans, and even create a skipping rope made of rubber bands!
In the end, systems analyst Philip Loo and his partner Ms Joey Ong racked up the most number of points to let them walk away with $1,500 in cash, ahead of the 2nd and 1st runner-up teams, who won $500 and $800 respectively. One creative team dressed up according to their assigned identity to portray ‘Makan King’ and won $100 worth of CapitaLand vouchers.
The TNP Adventure Hunt 2019 was organised by The New Paper and presented by Bugis Junction and Bugis+.
