Travel tips with Lianhe Zaobao

In line with Lianhe Zaobao’s weekly coverage on travel destinations on Mondays, and the huge interest among its readers, the paper held the inaugural zbTravelogue on July 27 at SPH News Centre.

About 400 readers attended the half-day seminar, which was helmed by Zaobao Travel columnists.

Mr Yap Seow Choong shared updates on refreshing destinations, away from commercial spots, while Mr Lee Yit Seong spoke about exploration on wheels and recommended destinations for self-drive trips. The sponsor of the event, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd, had its Corporate Communications Manager (Singapore & Southeast Asia), Ms Chin Ying Duan, sharing the unique experience of cruise travel with readers, including the most up-to-date cruises and facilities in her presentation, “The Latest & Biggest Wows of Cruises”.

Ms Chin said she wanted to clear the common misconception of cruise travel and convert detractors into enthusiastic supporters. She hoped that the talk would inspire first-timers to experience cruise travel. She said: “We were very motivated by the overwhelming response of the readers.”

Chan Brothers Travel Marketing Communications Manager Jeremiah Wong spoke on the topic titled “Trips of A Lifetime: Tibet & Silk Road. He said: “As the voice of the travel industry in Singapore, and in collaboration with Lianhe Zaobao, Chan Brothers Travel is proud that the inaugural Lianhe Zaobao travel forum was a success in enriching readers and travellers alike with valuable travel insights and trends.

“The forum provided us the ideal platform to tell our esteemed and educated customers, not just about the hottest travel destinations but also how a trusted travel agency like us can make holiday planning a breeze with unbeatable value and unrivalled service delivery. The travel forum has achieved what it sets out to do and Chan Brothers Travel is honoured to have been a part of this engaging initiative.”
