To celebrate Singapore’s 51st birthday, Lianhe Wanbao organised a National Day Luncheon for its readers at the newly revamped Ellenborough Market on August 6.
Readers came as early as 11am decked out in red and white to soak in the National Day mood.
It was a fun-filled day for them, as they played simple quizzes over a very sumptuous lunch with dishes specially created by Executive Chef Louis Tay of Swissotel Merchant Court, Ellenborough Market.
The dishes created were filled with local flavor such as Bak Wan Kepiting and a bandung dessert, which was of course in red and white for the nation’s birthday.
There was also a dessert demonstration segment whereby Chef Ms Winnie Hee of Swissôtel Merchant Court, Ellenborough Market, who shared with readers simple steps on how to make bandung at home.
It was an entertaining and fulfilling lunch as readers had an enjoyable time with their friends and families.
